Rose Marie Martorano

Rose Marie Martorano, 90,

peacefully passed to be with

Jesus on May 31, 2013 at her

home In Loveland, Colorado

where she was so lovingly

cared for by her children.

Rose was born October 31,

1922 to Emilio and Gertrude

Ferraro in Cokedale, Colorado.

She grew up in a small town

environment where faith and

love of family were values to

live by which she carried

throughout her entire life.

She graduated from Trinidad

High School in 1940 and

married Joseph Martorano, Sr.

and together raised 3 daughters,

Carolyn Frenchmore,

(husband-Raymond), Shirley

Brunelli, (husband-William)

Nancy Barron, (husband-

Richard), and one son Joseph

Martorano, Jr. (wife-Sharon

Lochard-Martorano). She has

11 grandchildren and 15

great-grandchildren that

surrounded her in the circle of

her life. She is survived by two

sisters, Elsie Leone of Trinidad

and Millie (Dave) Pavlich of

Montrose, and one

sister-in-law, Shirley Ferraro of

Pueblo, and several nieces and


Rose worked at the Cokedale

General Store while her

husband was in the Service.

She and her husband resided in

Sopris, Colorado for 23 years

after his return from the United

States Army and then moved to

Trinidad, Colorado making

their home there until 2006

when they then moved to

Loveland, Colorado to be near

their children.

Rose Marie worked for many

years at the Cokedale and

Jansen Post Office, Jamiesonís

Department Store and the

Trinidad Health Department

where she retired in 1987. She

was a member of the Catholic

Daughters in Trinidad and a

volunteer at the Welcome

Center. She volunteered at

Medical Center of the Rockies

in Loveland.

She was preceded in death by

her parents, Emilio and

Gertrude Ferraro, her husband,

Joseph Martorano, Sr., one

daughter, Jo Ellen, son-in-law,

Ray Frenchmore, one brother,

Alvin Ferraro, and

brother-in-law, Frank Leone.

Visitation for family and

friends will be held

Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at

Comi Funeral Home from 3

p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by the

Rosary at 7 p.m. at Comi

Chapel. Funeral Service will be

Thursday, June 6th, 2013 with

Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Holy

Trinity Catholic Church with

burial following at the Trinidad

Catholic Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are R.J.

Barron, John Barron, Ryan

Martorano, Jason Martorano,

Ray Frenchmore Jr., Kyle Kelly

and Joseph Kelly.

Memorial Contributions may

be made to Pathways Hospice

or the Catholic Church in

Trinidad or St. Johnís Catholic

Church in Loveland.
